Is the Protect Oil in any of the Trial/ Travel sets?
Yes. It can be found in the Sensitive Trial/ Travel Set.
Can the Protect Oil be used on young / teens skin?
Yes. Esse Protect Oil can be used on young skin if the skin is inflamed and as an alternative to a night cream.
Can I use the Protect Oil if I have acne prone or oily skin?
Yes. Some people enjoy the Protect Oil as a moisturising product (it leaves a smooth finish that does not feel oily).
Will Protect Oil protect against blue light?
Protect Oil is not a light filter and will not protect against UV light or blue light, it will however protect against the free radicals generated by light due to the very rare triple bond in the carbon chain of ximenynic acid that will react to form a protective polymer.
Will adding Protect Oil to my routine affect my skin’s sebum production in any way?
If you remove sebum (which you will do when you remove makeup) you will need to replace it with something. If you do not replace it, you will force your skin to produce much more sebum than it should, and it will produce low quality sebum.
Esse Protect Oil is a really active product because it has a very strange mix of fatty acids, and it favours microbes that can digest these fatty acids. We suggest using it after you cleanse to replace the lost sebum.
Why is the Protect Oil not certified by EcoCert?
The Ximenia Oil in our Protect Oil comes from Namibia and this makes up pretty much the whole product. It is harvested from the wild and we are happy with its purity, but EcoCert COSMOS will not consider it organic unless it is certified. The supplier will not be able to handle the paperwork required for certification.
What were the clinical results of the Protect Oil from its trial in Bonn, Germany?
We looked at the ability of the Protect Oil to improve skin hydration, skin firmness and wrinkle depth. We saw an increase of 31% in skin hydration, 13% improvement in skin firmness and an 11% improvement in wrinkle depth in 28 days.

I know I have reviewed before about The Protect Oil but I thought I would share this too.
It was very late one night and decided to make pancakes for my little boy for school, in our new stone pan.
As Murphy would have it, I burned my thumb badly on this new stone pan and panicked as I knew I had a full day of treatments the next day, and needed my poor thumb.
I checked the medicine box for burn guard….could not find it. Then I thought about ESSE….hmmmm.
I remembered seeing the results the Repair Oil had on someone’s scars and thought maybe it will work on buns too. Alas when I checked my cupboard I remembered I had left it at the spa. And as it was past midnight i wasn’t going out to get it.
So i turned to my little pot of gold, the Protect Oil and smothered my thumb in it and hoped for the best.
The next morning, expecting a massive blister, I checked out my poor thumb…nothing! Just a strange little white line, but no blister, no pain!
I spent the rest of the day doing facials and massages without even noticing the pancake-stone pan burn…
