How should you use the Pro-Sun D Serum?
Use it as part of your skincare routine, either as a replacement to your daily serum or alongside your daily serum. The serum needs to be applied in the morning (or any time before your sun spa) and would ideally be activated for 5 to 15 minutes in direct sun without any make-up or sunscreen.
Will the Pro-Sun D Serum have any benefits if sunscreen or make-up is unavoidable or if direct sun exposure is not possible?
Yes. Even without activation from direct sun, the Provitamin D in the Pro-Sun D Serum provides skin with improved resilience to stressors by increasing the production of heat shock proteins.
When is the ideal time to take the 5-min sun spa?
This will depend upon the time of day, how far you are from the equator, and the season you’re in. What really matters is that you get the UVB exposure needed to activate the Serum. Using the Dminder app can be very useful in determining the optimal time to take your sun spa.
Are there any consumers who this product is not suitable for? For example, pregnancy, sun allergy, acne-prone skin, etc.?
The product is safe for all skin types and for pregnant women. For individuals with sun allergy, we suggest that sun exposure is approached with the same caution as is usually required for each individual’s level of sensitivity.
Does it react with any medication either oral, or topical, or cortisone creams?
No, this occurs naturally in your sebum so it is not likely that there would be a reaction to something applied topically or taken orally. There would be no drug interactions that would be contraindicated.
Would the Vitamin D produced in the time spent in the sun counteract the negative effects of UVA?
It’s important to remember that the UVA in sunlight presents negative effects mostly as a result of OVER exposure to the sun. Short, safe periods of sun exposure – below the minimal erythemal dose (MED) – have been shown to provide a range of benefits. We recommend only getting your MEDs, in which case you’ll reap the benefits of healthy vitamin D levels without risking premature ageing.
Does one need to use the Pro-Sun D Serum every day?
Ideally this serum should be used once daily before sun exposure for best results.
What is the dose of vitamin D per application?
Somewhere in the range of 12 000-16 000 IU depending on how you use the product and where you are in the world.
Remember that despite these doses seeming relatively high, it’s impossible to overdose with vitamin D through your skin.

Amy –
Growing up, I was taught to avoid the sun. My skin was thin and pale. After using Pro-Sun D Serum 3 times, I see a healthy glow that I used to see when I was younger. My skin is plumper, more hydrated and surprisingly more even toned.
